Questions about hosting.

What is the difference between hosting and a care plan?

Hosting is the space your website occupies: storage, email accounts, bandwidth and the server it runs on. A care plan is the human work done on the site: updates, backups, security and content changes.

Why not just use cheap shared hosting?

For a simple brochure site it may be fine. The difference is who does the work and who carries the risk. On budget hosting, updates, backups, security and speed are your problem. Managed means those are ours.

Will my website go offline when you move it?

No. We copy it to the new server and test it there while your live site keeps running. Only once the copy is confirmed working do we point the domain across.

Is there a contract?

No. Hosting is month to month, and paying annually gives you one month free.

What does hosting not include?

Backups, updates and monitoring belong to a care plan, so hosting can be taken on its own if somebody already looks after the site.
