Questions, answered

Questions about the blog.

No. Every article is open, there is no newsletter wall, and nothing asks for an email before it tells you something useful. Same principle as the free tools — something people can actually read is worth more than a list of reluctant subscribers.

We do, from work we have actually done. The pricing figures come from our own published rates, the speed advice comes from sites we have had to fix, and where something is a general industry rule rather than our own experience, the article says so.

Depends on the subject. Structural advice about conversion, trust and site structure ages well. Anything about a specific platform, algorithm or price ages badly, so check the date on those. Where an older piece still gets read, we update it rather than leaving it wrong.

That is largely the point. Plenty of what we write is aimed at someone doing it themselves or briefing an in-house person. If it saves you from hiring anybody, the article did its job — and you will know where to find us if that changes.

Ask. Most of these started as a question a client asked twice, and the ones that get asked three times get written up. Send it through and if it is a question other South African businesses share, it will probably end up here.

Free audit

Reading is one thing. Knowing is another.

An article tells you what usually goes wrong. The free audit tells you what's actually wrong with your site — reviewed by a person, with a branded PDF back within 48 hours.
